Shaft repair procedures

2i28RM.jpg (25990 bytes)clear.gif (43 bytes)Shaft repair at Jenkins Electric is done exclusively with Submerged Arc Welding - the highest quality repair method that eliminates the possible flaking and peeling problems of other lesser quality repair techniques.

This special process involves welding new material on worn shaft areas under tightly controlled conditions. As the shaft slowly turns in a lathe, heat generated during welding is evenly distributed over the shaft surface. This heat distribution provides the necessary "stress relief" to prevent warping or distortion of the shaft itself.

Once the appropriate amount of buildup is achieved, the shaft is re-machined to specification - providing the customer with a repaired shaft as good as new. Guaranteed!

This repair process is another example of our dedication to use only those methods and materials providing the highest quality workmanship. We believe that our long history of satisfied customers is proof of that commitment to quality.
